“I depend on my dad like a rose depends on water and sun.” — Boy, first grade
Although fathers’ role in the family and men’s role in society are much discussed, low-income dads are seen in a negative light. What is wrong with this approach? First, men yearn to be connected with their children. Secondly, fathering programs get them there; teaching dads parenting and job-related skills, as well as, connecting them with their families and the community. “Dads” documents the results of these efforts. We see men involved with their children; improving their communities, and passing on cultural traditions, spirituality, love and discipline.
